SUSAN ELIA MACNEAL: Happy Saturday! (Or as my Louisiana born-and-raised London-living friend says, "Cheers, y'all!")
Life is mostly difficult. Embrace the fleeting beautiful moments. And if there are no beautiful moments today, create a beautiful moment. And if you can't do that, enjoy other people's beautiful moments. And if even that doesn't work, curl up with a nice cup of hot tea and a good book — and think that tomorrow there might actually be some beauty if you look hard enough.
Cheers, y'all.

ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday from Cincinnati, too!
ReplyDeleteThere is always beauty, somewhere. Some days you have to cock your head sideways further to see it.
What a picture. Will be working on creating some beauty today!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and cheers for beauty. Smiling helps me to see the beauty of being.
ReplyDeleteWe are the midst of a kitchen renovation, complete tear-out that includes removing part of a wall. Oh the things you find in remodeling an almost 100 year old house, We are looking at lath and plaster work done by a tradesmen early in the past century. And what fine work it is. We admire the beauty hidden in the interior of our walls, so much beauty.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there are the lilacs and wisteria filling the air with fragrance, and my friend has a pair of ginger kittens, just 8 weeks old. I have quite a lot of beauty around me this morning.
Good thought Susan! No reading here today because it's baby shower day! Hopefully lots of happy moments. wishing the same for all of you. xo

ReplyDeleteFrom DebRomano:
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Saturday activity is going to the library and returning with as many books as I can carry. And drinking endless cups of teas as I read them!
Have a good day, all!
Deb
Love this, Susan! Tell us about this photo… It looks like Queen Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteXxxx
Lovely, Susan, thank you!
ReplyDeleteRoberta, we want to hear all about the baby shower!
And Ann, we feel the same way about our 110 year old house. We've kept samples of the old wallpapers that were buried beneath newer ones. So beautiful, so interesting.
Hey, you guys! Seeing an old friend today for coffee and a walk in the park. Maybe some reading after that? Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder. I have recently taken on a very stressful new job and I have to keep reminding myself that it is not forever and that there is good coming of it. When I am having a particularly hard day, I've been listening to Josh Groban's cd of his favorite Broadway tunes. Oh, the beauty!
ReplyDeleteWishing everyone a good day today that includes something to make you smile. I'm going to my six-year-old granddaughter's dance recital this afternoon, so I will definitely be smiling then.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo. Keep Calm and Carry On. I love the image of joy on the bride's face. Good reminder.
ReplyDeleteHi! I spent the day at a volunteer recognition luncheon at a museum. Then back to listen to an audiobook as I get caught up on Bruno, Chief of Police.
ReplyDeleteI love that bride's look!
Happy Weekend!
